Give And Take

As an average high school student in North America, it is quite easy to manage one's education and ensure that assignments meet individuals needs. A teacher may assign a generic project, but it is up to the student to put their own personality and specific twist into it to make it their own. The expectations of the instructor are often geared to meet interests of the students and current events relevant to course material. In some cases this is not the truth, some instructors stick to the book and only teach what they are told to teach. This teaching method may create tension between educator and pupil and lead to an unenjoyable experience for both parties. Teacher-student relationships need to have an equal balance between give and take. A teacher should take into consideration the needs of the specific student body and how their learning interests may influence the future generations. That being said, students also need to respect that teachers have set curriculum that needs to be up to provincial standards in order for them to keep their career as an educator. If teachers kept communication with their students and asked them what they would like to study within a set of guidelines this could creates a positive balance between teachers and students and allow for fixed learning set for each student body.

  1. Very nice analysis Megan. I encourages me that several of your peers can see that the responsibility for a successful relationship lies with both parties. Your thoughts are presented in a mature and concise manner. Well done. here a a few technical items that I must point out;
    - one's education/ individual's needs- possessive
    - generic project, but - comma before conjuction
    - teacher-student relationships - dash
